Screen-printing on paper tissues

As the topic of the class was ‘sex’, my idea was to combine the obscene with the delicate. For the obscene part, I chose a chapter from Bret Easton Ellis’ book ‘Glamorama’ (the eponymous 28th chapter), which basically consists of a several pages-long, hilariously exaggerated description of a menage a trois between two men and a woman.

I screenprinted the text in white onto paper tissues, highlighting some of the less raunchy parts in black. The folds of the tissue provided the grid for the layout. As the tissue is unfolded, the chapter is gradually revealed.
